2008 Preview

There was a buzz in the air at the inaugural Travelers Championship. Thousands of fans
came out to "fill the hill" on Sunday to be part of the action as Hunter Mahan clinched his first
PGA TOUR win in a playoff victory over Jay Williamson.
Looking to the future, we are proud to embrace the championship's rich history as we
consistently develop the bright future of this event. We are committed to delivering a
world-class event that provides a venue for our sponsors to build their business relationships,
while also raising awareness and funds for our designated charities, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
and the Greater Hartford Jaycees.
In 2008, the Travelers Championship and the PGA TOUR will unveil a new practice facility at TPC
River Highlands. The state-of-the-art facility is anticipated to be one of the best on the PGA TOUR. The entire
facility will enlarge the golf course's current practice area from 5 acres to 22 acres. A premier
feature of the facility will be the expanded driving range, increasing its length from 260 yards to 360
yards. Additionally, the facility will include a short practice course, 11,000 square-foot putting green,
13,000 square-foot chipping area, and 110,000 square-feet of tees. In addition to offering a fantastic
opportunity for PGA TOUR professionals, the facility has been designed in the best interest of fans, providing
optimal viewing areas.
